Chatara, or "Shea" as we call her, got her start with a Fashion Design degree from the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising in Los Angeles, California. When she stumbled across Elle’s Instagram during a period of career transition and realized she had found an imaginative kindred spirit, she submitted her resume and was over the moon when she nabbed an EED internship in 2014.
Her extensive experience in customer service and visual merchandising, helped her to develop a knack for symmetry and juxtaposition for decorum. The teeniest detail at each wedding venue does not go unnoticed or unperfected. Chatara also values a genuine interaction with every wedding party and treats them like her own family. So, when the internship was over, Chatara had asked if she could still work with EED, but Elle had no plans of letting her leave…ever.
In 2016, Shea began planning small and social events with Elle & Co., as well as training with Elle to 'one day' become a Wedding Planner at the company. In 2018 she had her first solo wedding and has since become a sought after planner for weddings and events, as well as a breath of fresh air in this cookie-cutter design industry. Couples flock to her eye for detail and her desire to have every design aesthetically perfect makes her an incredible event designer for events big and small. Chatara’s meticulous style, artistic talent, and eye for design has led her to her irreplaceable, creative-guru status with Elle & Co.
Shea works with all wedding packages from Week of Coordination to Full Planning & Design, as well as social and corporate events of all sizes.
